First intimation and Biddersí Meet with regard to the Project for Design, Development, Construction, Commissioning and Operation & Maintenance of ìStatue of Unityî in memory of Late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, downstream of Sardar Sarovar Dam at Kevadia in the District of Narmada, State of Gujarat, India.
The Government of Gujarat has resolved to construct a 182 Meter high ìStatue of Unityî in memory of a founding father of Modern India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Sadhu Island, downstream of Sardar Sarovar Dam at Kevadia in the District of Narmada, State of Gujarat, India. The Project will be implemented in phases. The first phase comprises of a 182 Meter tall statue of
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, bridge connecting Sadhu Island to the main land, visitor centre and memorial garden, 3.5 Kms long road from Sadhu Island to village Kevadia, and administrative block cum hotel. The broad estimate of the phase 1 Project is assessed as Rs. 2000 Crores (US $ 360 Million). This project phase is planned to be completed in 42 months. The Project is to be implemented by the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust, set up by the Government of Gujarat with the Honíble Chief Minister as its Chairman, as the owner and Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited (SSNNL), a Government of Gujarat undertaking as the Project Implementing Agency. A consortium comprising of M/s. Turner Project Management Consultant India Pvt. Ltd., Michael Graves & Associates Inc., USA, Meinhardt India Pvt. Ltd, is the Project Management and Construction Management consultant. The SSNNL for and on behalf of SVPRET intends to implement the Project adopting Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPC) mode of contract through Single Stage Two Envelope International Competitive Bidding Process. National and International construction companies are invited to participate in the said bidding process. The bidding process is proposed to be based on Post Qualification of the intending bidders through a well structured technical and financial qualification criteria focusing on capability and experience in design and construction of tall and iconic structures comprising of RCC Core and structural steel frame. The bids are planned to be invited in the 1st week of June 2013.
SVPRET / SSNNL has organized a bidderís meet at Gujarat Bhavan, Kautilya Marg,
Chankyapuri, New Delhi on 28th of May 2013 at 12 noon to appraise the intending bidders about the Project and the bidding process and discuss and deliberate upon the bid documents. National and International bidders, who are interested to participate and who have the experience of designing and constructing such tall structures in India and Abroad are hereby requested to participate in the biddersí conference and provide their Expression of Interest (EOI) during the biddersí conference.
